74th-76th Lesson from the Book of Tawheed by Shaykhul-Islaam Muhammad bin Abdil-Wahhaab

بســـم اللــه الرحــمــن الـرحـــيــم

From the commentary on the Book of Tawheed by Shaykhul-Islaam Muhammad bin Abdil-Wahhaab may Allaah have mercy on him, 74th-76th, Lesson,

By Shaykh, the ‘Allāmah, the Trustworthy Advisor, Abu ‘Abdirrahmān Yahya bin ‘Ali Al-Hajūri – may Allāh preserve him – on the 6th, Rabee’ Al-Awwal, 1444H

Chapter: His statement: 

(َۚوَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَتَوَكَّلُوٓا۟ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ) 

"And upon Allah rely, if you should be believers."

[Al-Maa’idah: 23] 

And His statement:  

(إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ زَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَٰنًا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ) 

"The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely." 

[Al-Anfaal: 2] 

And His statement: 

(يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ حَسْبُكَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ) 

"O Prophet, sufficient for you is Allah and for whoever follows you of the believers." 

[Al-Anfaal: 64] 

And His 

(ُۚوَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُۥٓۚ) 

"And whoever relies upon Allah  then He is sufficient for him."

[At-Talaaq: 3]

And from Ibn 'Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with them, he said: "Hasbunaa Allaah wa N'im Al-Wakeel, was said by Ibraaheem ﷺ when he was thrown into the Fire, and it was said by Muhammad ﷺ when they said:

(ٱلَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَٰنًا وَقَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ ٱلْوَكِيلُ)

"Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs."

[Aal-Imraan: 173]

In it are Masaa’il (topics):

The First: That Tawakkul is from the obligations.

The Second: That it’s from the conditions of Eemaan.

The Third: Tafseer of the verse of Al-Anfaal.

The Fourth: Tafseer of the verse at the end of it.

The Fifth: Tafseer of the verse of Talaaq.

The Sixth: The magnitude of the affair of this word that Ibraaheem and Muhammad ﷺ uttered in time of hardship.
