Question: After the age of menstruation ends, if menstrual blood and illness-related blood come together and the days of bleeding increase, should one start praying after sixteen days? And if menstrual blood comes with illness-related blood, what will be the method of performing ghusl?
Answer: If a woman experiences illness-related blood during her menstrual days, she should refrain from praying only for the number of days that her menstrual cycle used to last, and not consider the additional days as menstruation. She should follow her usual cycle, perform ghusl, and start praying. The method of ghusl is the same as ghusl janabat, and it should be performed in the same manner for menstruation, janabat, nifas, and all types of ghusl.
Some scholars have made it obligatory to untie the hair during ghusl for menstruation, but it is considered correct that ghusl can be performed without untying the hair, as the main objective is to ensure that water reaches the roots of the hair.
