Rules for Widows Attending Eid Prayers: What You Need to Know
Question: Can a widow go to the Eidgah (Eid prayer ground) to participate in the Eid prayer and supplications?
Answer: A widow is in a period of ‘iddah (waiting period), which must be observed at home. Therefore, she should not leave her home for the Eid prayer. It is sufficient for her to perform the Eid prayer at home. Scholars also advise against her attending prayers or lectures at the local mosque during this period. Essentially, a widow should not leave her home except for essential reasons.
