Can You Observe Voluntary Fasts Beyond Obligatory Ones?
Question: Can one observe fasts other than the obligatory and voluntary fasts?
Answer:Apart from the obligatory fasts, all other fasts are considered voluntary, and some voluntary fasts are specified, such as the white days (Ayam al-Bid), Mondays, and Thursdays, etc. However, you can observe as many fasts as you wish throughout the year; there is no prohibition against it. The only restriction is that a person should not fast continuously every day without breaks; rather, they should fast intermittently, and there is no harm in that.
