Question: A man lives in Jeddah, and his wife has come to perform Umrah. He tied the Ihram in Jeddah and performed Umrah with his wife once. Now, both husband and wife are in Makkah. After performing one Umrah, the husband wishes to perform another Umrah with his wife. Where should he tie the Ihram? His wife tied the Ihram from Masjid Aisha.
Answer: The basic rule regarding Umrah is that a person performs only one Umrah during one journey. Therefore, the Umrah performed by the person who came from Jeddah or another country is sufficient. When they travel again to Makkah with the intention of Umrah, they may perform another Umrah at that time.
Nevertheless, if someone is staying in Makkah and wishes to perform another Umrah, they can go to Masjid Aisha, tie the Ihram, and perform Umrah. Therefore, both the husband and wife can tie the Ihram from Masjid Aisha.
