Question: While performing Umrah, a fourteen-year-old girl got separated from her parents during the third round of Tawaf. She got tired and sat down, leaving the Tawaf incomplete. Later, she reunited with her parents but had only completed three rounds of Tawaf. However, she performed Sa’i and cut her hair, thus exiting the state of Ihram. It has been one day since this happened. Is there any expiation required, or should she perform Tawaf again?
Answer: If the girl only completed three rounds of Tawaf and then performed Sa’i and cut her hair, her Umrah is not valid because Tawaf is a pillar of Umrah, and without completing it, the Umrah is incomplete. She made a mistake by performing Sa’i and cutting her hair without completing Tawaf. She should go back to the Haram and perform a complete Tawaf, then perform Sa’i again because Sa’i is to be done after Tawaf. The previous Sa’i is not valid as the Tawaf was incomplete. After completing Tawaf and Sa’i, she should cut her hair to exit the state of Ihram. This should be done even if one day has passed. Additionally, Ihram is not just about wearing specific clothes; it is a state of intention.
