How to Make Ihram Intention While Residing in Dammam for Umrah

Making Ihram Intention for Umrah from Dammam: A Guide

Question: If a person is residing in Dammam, Saudi Arabia on a visit visa, should they make the intention for Ihram from the Miqat or from their residence?

Answer: If someone is residing in Dammam and intends to perform Umrah, their Miqat will be the Miqat of Taif (Al-Sail Al-Kabeer). They should travel to Taif, don the Ihram there, and then perform Umrah. If they are traveling by a vehicle or flight that does not stop at the Miqat, they should perform Ghusl (ritual purification) and wear the Ihram garments from their residence in Dammam. When they approach the Miqat of Taif, they should then make the intention for Umrah.
