Performing Umrah from Jeddah: Ihram Guidelines and Recommendations

Entering Ihram for Umrah: Can You Start from Jeddah?

Question: My relatives are on an Umrah visa in Jeddah and will stay for three months. If they want to perform Umrah, do they need to go to Masjid Aisha each time, or can they enter Ihram from Jeddah?

Answer: If someone is residing in Jeddah and wants to perform Umrah, they should enter Ihram from their residence in Jeddah, not from Masjid Aisha. If they delay entering Ihram until reaching Masjid Aisha, they will be liable for a penalty (dam) because they did not enter Ihram from the proper place. Additionally, it is against the Sunnah to perform multiple Umrahs in a single day or continuously. It is better to space them out and perform Umrah after some time has passed.
