Chapter: What has come concerning showing off

And His statement:

"Say, "I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God. So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord – let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone."

[Al-Kahf: 110]

And from Abi Hurairah Marfoo’ he said: “Allaah ﷻ said:

"I am the most self-sufficient from having patners. So whoever does an action associating with it me with other than me I disregard it and his partner."

[Reported by Muslim]

In it are Masaa’il (topics):

The First: Tafseer Ayatul-Kahf.

The Second: The great affair in the rejection of a righteous action if anything for other than Allaah enters it.

The Third: Mentioning the cause which necessitates that, and it is completeness in self-sufficiency.

The Fourth: That from the causes is that Allaah is the better of the partners.

The Fifth: The fear of the Prophet ﷺ of showing off upon his companions.

The Sixth: That he explained it for a person to pray for Allaah, but he beautifies due to what he sees of another person looking at him.
