Debunking the Misconception: Surah Al-Kawthar for Sustenance

Is Reciting Surah Al-Kawthar 129 Times a Valid Practice for Blessings?

Question: Someone said that reciting Surah Al-Kawthar 129 times and reciting Durood Ibrahim 11 times before and after will bring blessings in sustenance. Is this correct?

Answer: There is no basis for this in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) never taught us such a practice. This is completely false and should not be followed. It is likely that someone who practices innovations (bid’ah) has fabricated and spread this. There are many such artificial practices found among people who follow innovations. These invented practices are considered bid’ah (innovations) and should be avoided.
