The Misconceptions of Grave Worship: Sheikh Salih Al Sheikh’s Insights

Understanding the Fallacies of Grave Worship and the Reality of Burial Sites

The stupidity of the Grave Worshipers

Sheikh Salih Al Sheikh حفظه الله said:

Some people turn to the graves of the deceased believing that the one buried there is so-and-so the “wali”, when in reality it is someone else who is buried there.

For example, Sheikh al Islam spoke about the grave of Al Husayn, the son of ‘Ali, may Allah be pleased with them, located in Cairo. He said upon verification, and (confirmed) also by scholars and historians, that Al Husayn did not reach Cairo, but was taken from Iraq to Damascus, to Yazid Ibn Mu’aawiya, and was buried there.

And today you find a grave of Al Husayn in Iraq with a huge mausoleum, and one in Sham, and one in Cairo!

He said: “The one buried in this place in Cairo is a Christian man.”

And some said: “In fact, it is an animal buried in this place.”
