Question:
If there is a name written on a prayer mat, does the prayer performed on it count? For example, if my name is written on it, does it affect the prayer?
Answer:
If a name is written on a prayer mat, the prayer performed on it is still valid. However, since prayer should be performed with humility and concentration, the prayer mat should not have anything written on it that could distract or divert a person’s attention from the prayer itself. It is preferable that the mat is free from any inscriptions or decorations that might shift one’s focus away from the act of worship.
