Question: Sheikh, what type of soil is permissible for Tayammum (dry ablution)? As mentioned in the Prophet’s prayer, it is permissible with salty soil and sand. What is meant by salty soil? Can we perform Tayammum with the dust that accumulates on windows or under a clean carpet at home?
Answer: You can perform Tayammum with any type of pure soil, regardless of its kind, as long as it is pure.
Salty soil refers to barren land soil. Ideally, Tayammum should be performed with soil, but in the absence of soil, you can use dust that accumulates in homes, such as on windows or under clean carpets.
