Answer: There is no evidence from the Quran or Hadith that prayers should not be offered at 12 noon or 12 midnight. This is a misconception among people. However, it is true that there are three times during which voluntary (Nafl) prayers are prohibited. These times are:
During these times, offering voluntary prayers is not allowed. But if you have an obligatory prayer left, you may offer it at any time, whether the sun is rising, at its zenith, setting, or even at 12 noon or 12 midnight. Prayers with a specific cause, such as the prayer upon entering the mosque (Tahiyyat al-Masjid), the Sunnah after ablution (Wudu), or the Tawaf prayer, may also be offered at any time.
