Islamic Guidelines on Reciting Supplications and Prayers in a State of Janabah
Question: Can a person in a state of impurity (janabah) recite supplications, prayers, respond to the call of prayer (adhan), and send blessings upon the Prophet (salawat)?
Answer: A person in a state of impurity (janabah) can indeed recite supplications, prayers, respond to the call of prayer, and send blessings upon the Prophet, as the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) used to remember Allah in all conditions. All of these are forms of remembrance (dhikr). However, reciting the Quran is prohibited for someone in a state of impurity (janabah).
