Du’a is an act of worship which should be directed to ALLĀH Alone. Whoever calls upon anyone in their du’a – dead or living – besides ALLĀH has committed a major shirk which takes one out of the fold of Islam.
ALLAH has bestowed numerous blessings upon humanity, including the alternation of night and day for rest from their activities, which, if continuous, would cause them harm. They retire to their beds, and ALLĀH grants them sleep, providing rest for their minds and bodies. Sleep is a human necessity that no one can do without. Yet, despite these blessings, most people fail to express gratitude. This ingratitude is a major sin.
A reminder of the principle of Tawhid, the absolute oneness of ALLĀH. There is no god worthy of worship except HIM, and recognizing this and living in accordance with it is essential for your salvation.
