Question: My menopause is starting, causing irregular menstrual cycles. My usual period never exceeded seven days, but this time it is extending beyond seven days. According to Sharia, when should I start praying?
Answer: Generally, women have a regular menstrual cycle, and they experience their period according to this habit. However, in matters of menstruation, the actual occurrence of menstruation is considered, not the number of days. As women reach an older age, the menstrual cycle may start to end, causing variations in the number of days. Therefore, a woman should refrain from praying as long as she is experiencing menstrual bleeding, regardless of whether it is more or less than her usual habit.
