Understanding the Implications of Kissing the Quran: A Balanced Perspective
Question: If one kisses the Quran without considering it a source of reward, is there any harm in it?
Answer: Essentially, the Barelvis have made kissing the Quran a Sunnah (a practice of the Prophet) and consider it a source of reward. Observing this practice by the Barelvis, common people think it is indeed a Sunnah, and thus they also follow it. However, there is no such practice mentioned in the Sunnah.
There is no harm in kissing the Quran, but it should not become a habit. If you make it a habit, it implies that you consider it a Sunnah.
