The Truth About Kaaba Covers: Separating Fact from Innovation

Understanding the Significance of the Kaaba Cover and Its Proper Disposal

Question: If someone has a cover from the Kaaba, what should they do with it? Someone gifted it, and the question is, can we frame it and hang it on the wall?

Answer: Nowadays, there is less focus on faith and practice, and people have become more inclined towards amulets, blessings, and shortcuts in practicing religion. People believe in hanging Quranic plaques for protection, wearing amulets for protection from jinn and devils, and inventing all sorts of rituals for various needs. Unfortunately, many people think this is part of religion, and most people are engrossed in these practices.

Regarding your question about the Kaaba cover, you should ask yourself why you acquired it in the first place. It’s not right to ask others what to do with something you’ve obtained.

In reality, people seek pieces of the Kaaba cover as a form of blessing, believing it will bring blessings to their home and protect the household. My advice to you is to never attempt to obtain a piece of the Kaaba cover in the future, nor display it as a blessing in your home. If you already have one, it is better to remove it from your home and burn it. This piece will not bring any benefit to you or your home.

It’s also important to note that pieces of cloth claiming to be from the Kaaba cover are distributed worldwide, and often, these are just regular clothes. This practice is more common among those who promote innovations and grave worship. Unfortunately, even some households that adhere to the concept of monotheism are falling into this, and this issue needs to be corrected.
