Can a Woman in Janabah Eat, Drink, and Breastfeed? Understanding Ritual Impurity

Activities Permitted During Janabah: Eating, Drinking, and Breastfeeding

Question: If a woman is in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah) and for some reason has not yet performed the ritual bath (ghusl), can she eat, drink, and breastfeed her child in this state?

Answer: In the state of janabah, it is not prohibited to cook, do household chores, eat, breastfeed the child, sleep, etc. All these activities can be performed by someone in a state of janabah. However, one should not delay performing ghusl without a valid reason to avoid delaying or neglecting the obligatory prayers.
