Should You Accept Inheritance Containing Both Halal and Haram Wealth?

Islamic Ruling on Accepting Inheritance with Halal and Haram Wealth

Question: If the inheritance contains both lawful (Halal) and unlawful (Haram) wealth, should I accept it or leave it?

Answer: If there is no certain knowledge about the wealth being unlawful, meaning there is only doubt or a small portion of the inheritance is mixed with unlawful wealth, then there is no harm in distributing and accepting such inheritance. However, if it is known that part of the wealth is unlawful, then the amount that is unlawful should be given to a needy person, and the remaining lawful wealth should be distributed among the heirs.
