Question: I have a daughter and I want another child, but the second pregnancy did not hold and resulted in miscarriage twice. The doctor says there is no problem. In such a case, can I perform any specific prayers or supplications to ensure the pregnancy holds and is protected? If so, which one should I perform?
Answer: In times of distress, a person should undertake two types of actions.
The first action is to seek help from Allah, the Most High, in various ways. This includes performing prayers, making supplications in your own language, and doing so at preferred times.
The second action is to adopt practical, worldly measures to address the problem. Since the issue of not retaining the pregnancy is a medical one, you should also consult medical professionals. If the doctor says there is no problem, it may be that their knowledge is limited; consulting a more specialized doctor could potentially be beneficial.
Therefore, continue to make personal supplications to Allah while also seeking advice from the best available doctors. Sometimes, trials come from Allah, and in such cases, we need patience. It’s important to maintain patience while continuing to pray and adopt practical solutions.
There is no specific prayer or supplication that guarantees the resolution of this issue. Instead, hold the belief that the problem is from Allah and He alone can resolve it. Follow the two actions mentioned above: make supplications and seek the best medical care.
