Listening to Maulana Iqbal Salafi’s Speeches: Guidance and Precautions

The Benefits and Limitations of Following Maulana Iqbal Salafi’s Teachings

Question: Can we listen to the speeches of Maulana Iqbal Salafi, who is also a Raqi?

Answer: Maulana Iqbal Salafi is a scholar from the Ahl-e-Hadith school of thought, and his speeches are generally beneficial. Absolutely, one should listen to his speeches. Besides being a religious scholar, he is also a Raqi (spiritual healer), which leads people to ask him questions about magic and possession. However, while providing treatment, he sometimes makes the same mistake that some Deobandi scholars do, i.e., suggesting specific verses or prayers for certain ailments on his own, and even prescribing a certain number of repetitions for prayers. Therefore, if you come across such suggestions, investigate them thoroughly first. Never rely solely on the words of a Raqi for supplications and prayers; instead, seek guidance from authentic scholars in this matter.
