The Truth About Maqam Ibrahim and the Origins of the Kaaba

Did Maqam Ibrahim’s Stone Move by Itself? Uncovering the Myths and Facts

Question: Regarding Maqam Ibrahim, I have heard that the stone would move by itself to wherever Prophet Ibrahim (AS) needed it. Is this true? And who built the Kaaba first, Prophet Adam (AS) or the angels?

Answer: There is no doubt that the Kaaba existed before Prophet Ibrahim (AS) rebuilt it, as Allah commanded him to raise its foundations. However, there is a difference of opinion on who first built the Kaaba. Some say the angels built it, while others say Prophet Adam (AS) did. These are historical accounts, but there is no solid evidence to confirm them.

As for Maqam Ibrahim, the claim that the stone moved by itself to wherever Prophet Ibrahim (AS) needed it is a myth and falsehood. Stones are inanimate objects and do not move by themselves. It is true that Prophet Ibrahim (AS) stood on this stone while building the Kaaba, but the idea that it moved by itself is baseless and without evidence.
