Question: Someone wants to open a shop for motorcycles, scooters, etc., but many customers prefer to buy through bank loans because this is common in India. Is such income permissible?
Answer: If a person sells motorcycles and scooters through an interest-based bank loan, this business and its income are not permissible because engaging with an interest-based bank is cooperating in usury, which is a sinful act. It does not matter what is common in India; we must consider what is permissible and impermissible in Islam. What is halal in Islam is halal, and what is haram is haram. Therefore, a Muslim should earn a lawful livelihood.
