Understanding the Conditions for a Valid Ishraq Prayer
Question: If a woman prays Fajr and remains seated on the same prayer mat to pray the Ishraq prayer, her prayer is valid. But if she moves slightly on the mat, will her Ishraq prayer still be valid?
Answer: The first thing to understand is that Ishraq prayer is for someone who has prayed Fajr in congregation. Therefore, if a woman is praying Fajr alone at home, she should perform the Duha (Chasht) prayer instead.
Secondly, if someone prays Fajr in congregation at the mosque and remains seated in the same spot until the sun rises, there is no harm if they move slightly forward or backward. They should continue making dhikr (remembrance of Allah) until the sun rises, and then they can perform the Ishraq prayer.
