Is It Permissible to Pass in Front of a Worshipper Without a Sutrah?

Understanding the Rules of Passing in Front of a Worshipper Without a Sutrah

Question: If a worshipper does not have a sutrah (barrier) in front of them, is it permissible to pass in front of their place of prostration?

Answer: Some scholars say that if a worshipper does not have a sutrah, it is not permissible to pass in front of them, no matter how far away they are. However, scholars like Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen say that in the absence of a sutrah, it is permissible to pass beyond the place of prostration because the right of the worshipper extends from their feet to the place of prostration. This is a reasonable view, but taking precautions and avoiding passing in front of someone praying is better.
