Benefits of migrating chapter  3rd- 4th

By our Shaykh, the ‘Allaamah, the Sincere Advisor, Abu ‘Abdirrahman Yahya bin ‘Ali Al-Hajoori – may Allaah preserve him –

Chapter of Hijrah📚

1029 – Muhammad bin Yahya narrated to us, he said Muhammad bin Yusuf narrated to us, he said Awzaa’ee narrated to us, he said Az-Zuhri narrated to me, he said Ataa’ bin Yazeed Al-Laithi narrated to me, he said, Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: “A Bedouin came the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about Hijrah? So he said:” Woe unto you, verily Hijrah is a severe matter, do you have camels? He said: “Yes”, he said:  “You give charity due upon them?”, he said: “Yes”, he said:”Do you lend them so that their milk may be utilized by others?” he said, “Yes.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Do you milk them on the day off watering them?” He said: “Yes.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “Do good deeds beyond the sea and Allah will never disregard any of your deeds.”

The chain of the hadith with the author is authentic

His statement “a Bedouin came”: Al-Haafidh said: I do not know this Bedouins name.

His statement: “He asked about Hijrah”

Al-Haafidh said Hijrah is leaving the lands of disbelief

And what is apparent is that (the Bedouins question) was after the conquest of Makkah and that Hijrah after the conquest of Makkah was not obligatory.

His statement: “Its affair is great” meaning that Hijrah is severe and he encouraged him to do what was easier.

The intent of his statement “beyond the sea”, meaning the villages and the Arabs call the villages seas.

And in it is that Hijrah is not obligatory on the incapable one by consensus, and it is said that Hijrah was after the conquest from the time of the questioning of the Bedouin.

And it could be specific to that Bedouin because he was incapable so the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ felt pitiful for him, because he was gentle to the believers.

And Allaah knows best

Explanation of the second hadith⤵️

1030 – ‘Abdullah bin Haashim narrated to us, he said Yahya ya’nee Ibn Sa’eed narrated to us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Mansoor, on the authority of Mujaahid, on the authority of Taawus on the authority of Ibn ‘Abbaas, may Allaah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: “There is no Hijrah after the conquest (of Makkah) and if you are requested to be mobilized then mobilize.”

The chain of hadith is authentic

Hadith: There is no Hijrah after the conquest

It has come from numerous companions⤵️

  • 1 – From Ibn ‘Abbaas, may Allaah be pleased with them both, and it is Agreed upon.
  • 2 – From Aa’ishah, may Allaah be pleased with her, reported by Al-Bukhari Mawqoof and Muslim Marfoo’, with the addition ‘But Jihad and intention.’
  • 3 – From Ibn ‘Umar reported by Al-Bukhari.
  • 4 – From Mujaashi’ bin Mas’ood Agreed upon.
  • 5 – Safwan bin Umayyah with Nasaa’ee and Ahmed, authentic.
  • 6 – From Ghaziyah bin Al-Haarith, authentic.
  • 7 – From Ibn Sa’eed Al-Khudri with Abu Dawud At-Tayaalisee, authentic.
  • 8 – From Zaid bin Thabit, may Allaah be pleased with him, with Abu Dawud, authentic.
  • 9 – From Zaid bin Al-Arqam with Abu Dawud At-Tayaalisee, authentic.
  • 10 – From ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al-‘Aas with Ahmed in Al-Musnad.

So this is ten

⤴️ So this hadith is Mutwaatir

↪️ The hadith of Abdullah bin As-Sa’di complicates this mutawaatir hadith that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Hijrah will not cease so long as the enemy is fought”, reported by An-Nasaa’ee and Ahmed and the hadith is authentic and it has a shaahid from the hadith of Mu’aawiyah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: “Hijrah will not cease until repentance ceases and repentance will not cease until the sun rises from its place of setting (the west)

↪️ Reconciliation between all these authentic hadiths which point towards Hijrah remaining until the day of Judgment.

↪️And the ten that mention in them No Hijrah.

↪️ The answer is that the scholars have two answers:⤵️

➡️ The first:

That there is no Hijrah from Makkah because it became the land of the Muslims.

➡️ The second:

That there is no Hijrah more complete or virtuous except what was before the conquest because after that Islam superceded and became strong.

and our Shaikh chose this second statement to be stronger and it is the most closest to the truth that there is no Hijrah more complete and more virtuous.

Benefit⤵️

They unanimously agreed that the conquest of Makkah was in the eighth year of Hijrah and that it was in Ramadhan and they differed in which day it was and the closest to what is correct is that the Prophet ﷺ left on the tenth and reached on the 19th.

The hadith “There is no Hijrah after the conquest”, the Prophet ﷺ said it on the day of the conquest and after that the people entered into Islam in droves

Al-Khataabee and other than him

(Hijrah was obligatory in the early stages of Islam upon the one who entered Islam due to the shortage of numbers of the Muslims in Madeenah and the need for togetherness, so when Allaah granted the conquering of Makkah the people entered into Makkah in droves so the obligation of Hijrah to Madeenah dropped and the obligation of Jihad and intention remained upon the one who upheld it and the enemy descended upon him.”

[End of speech]

➡️ Al-Haafidh, said: “The wisdom behind Hijrah being obligatory upon the Muslims is also for the one who newly entered Islam to be safe from the harm of the disbelievers because they used to torture the newly entered  Muslims from amongst them until they returned to their religion and the following verse was revealed concerning them:

(إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ ظَالِمِي أَنفُسِهِمْ قَالُوا فِيمَ كُنتُمْ قَالُوا كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ قَالُوا أَلَمْ تَكُنْ أَرْضُ اللَّهِ وَاسِعَةً فَتُهَاجِرُوا فِيهَا)

“Verily! As for those whom the angels take (in death) while they are wronging themselves (as they stayed among the disbelievers even though emigration was obligatory for them), they (angels) say (to them): “In what (condition) were you?” They reply: “We were weak and oppressed on earth.” They (angels) say: “Was not the earth of Allah spacious enough for you to emigrate therein?”

And this Hijrah remains for everyone that enters into Islam in the lands of the disbelievers and is capable of leaving from it.”

And Allaah knows best
