A lot of people post on Facebook and say things like, “My past haunts me” or “I’m depressed” etc. etc.
But do we ever think that Allaah ﷻ does everything for a reason. You were weak. The past made you strong. You were a rude person. The past made you humble. Past taught you a lot. Now you will think twice before you make some mistakes like you did in the past which will help you now or in future.
It’s true that moving on from the past is not easy. Have you ever thought that are you the same person now as you were before? You changed yourself gradually and Allaah ﷻ helped you. So give yourself some credit.
Don’t waste your precious time trying to forget the past, instead work hard to make your present better. Make yourself engaged in Allaah’s prayers. Tell Him everything you want. Do Halal work and earn Halal money. Make your mind busy with good thoughts.
Whenever the past would try to haunt you just calm your mind and seek help from Allaah. Remember that only Allaah can help you.
Allaah does everything for your betterment. You might not see it today but you will realize it one day. Because Allaah ﷻ Doesn’t fail the person who has complete faith on Him.
