Understanding Property Rights After the Death of a Spouse: What Happens When You Remarry

Does Remarrying Affect a Widow’s Share of Her Deceased Husband’s Property?

Question: If a woman gets married and then her husband passes away, and she remarries without taking her share from the first husband’s property, will she still have a share in the first husband’s property after remarrying?

Answer: If a woman’s husband passes away while she was still his wife, and there was no separation through divorce or annulment, then she is entitled to a share of her deceased husband’s property. This entitlement remains regardless of whether she remarries or not.
