Question: In a Muslim household, there is a Christian maid who cooks, washes dishes, and performs other household tasks. Is this permissible?
Answer: There is no issue in employing a Christian maid to cook, wash dishes, or perform other household tasks. It is permissible to hire a non-Muslim for such duties. However, it is better, if possible, to employ a Muslim maid, as she would be more mindful of cleanliness and Islamic practices, as well as be trustworthy and honest in her work and religion. If a Christian maid is employed, there is no harm in that either. However, efforts should be made to introduce her to Islam and continually invite her to the faith, as Allah may guide her and bring her to Islam.
