Can I Recite Supplications in a State of Janabah? Islamic Guidance

Janabah and Acts of Worship: What is Permitted and Prohibited

Question: Can a person in a state of major ritual impurity (Janabah) recite supplications, prayers, respond to the Adhan, and send blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him)?

Answer: A person in a state of Janabah can recite supplications, prayers, respond to the Adhan, and send blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) because the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to remember Allah in all states, and these are all forms of remembrance. However, it is prohibited for a person in the state of Janabah to recite the Quran.
