The Importance of Aqeeqah and Its Implications on the Soul
Question: If someone passes away without performing an Aqeeqah (sacrifice for a newborn), will their soul be imprisoned?
Answer: In an authentic hadith, it is mentioned that every child is held in pledge for their Aqeeqah. This highlights the importance of Aqeeqah. However, if someone did not have an Aqeeqah performed due to lack of financial means, they are excused, as Allah does not burden a person beyond their capacity. Therefore, if someone passed away without an Aqeeqah, we cannot say their soul is imprisoned. Rather, if they were a believer, they would be in a good state, and if they were not, their condition would reflect that.
