What Happens If a Woman Cannot Find a Mahram for Hajj? Exploring the Rules and Solutions
Question: A woman who has enough money for Hajj and wants to go, but her husband, although financially capable, does not go with her, while neither her son nor her brother are capable of going with her, and she cannot afford their Hajj costs either, how can she perform Hajj? If no mahram goes with the woman, can she go for Hajj in a group organized by the government?
Answer: For a woman who does not have a mahram for Hajj, it is not obligatory upon her to perform Hajj. For Hajj to be obligatory for a woman, it is necessary for her to have a mahram with her. Therefore, she cannot go alone for Hajj in a government-organized group. In this case, she should wait, pray to Allah, and make efforts to arrange for a mahram.
