Is it Permissible for Muslim Children to Participate in Children’s Day?

Imitation of Non-Muslims: Understanding the Islamic Ruling on Children’s Day

Question: Can children be sent to participate in Children’s Day?

Answer: Celebrating Children’s Day is not an Islamic practice and is considered an imitation of non-Muslims. Therefore, it is not appropriate to send your children to such events. Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them” (Abu Dawood: 4031).

In light of this hadith, it is not permissible to imitate non-Muslim practices or adopt their customs.
