Handling Items Purchased with Haram Money
Question: A woman asks if the items bought with her father-in-law’s unlawful earnings can be kept in the house or if they should be sold and given as charity, Zakat, or used to pay off debts.
Answer: If there are items in the house bought with unlawful money, they should be given away to a needy person or used for social welfare projects like roads, wells, or drainage systems. These items should not be given as charity, Zakat, or used to pay off debts because the money is not pure.
