When Can a Woman Perform Tahiyyat al-Wudu Before Obligatory Prayers?
Question: Can a woman perform Tahiyyat al-Wudu (the prayer of ablution) at home before every obligatory prayer, meaning she performs two units of Tahiyyat al-Wudu after ablution and then prays the obligatory prayer?
Answer: When the call to prayer (Adhan) is made and there are Sunnah prayers associated with that obligatory prayer, the woman should not perform Tahiyyat al-Wudu. Instead, she should directly perform the Sunnah prayers of that obligatory prayer. However, if there are no Sunnah prayers associated with the obligatory prayer, such as the ‘Asr prayer, she can perform Tahiyyat al-Wudu. Additionally, outside of the prayer times, she can perform Tahiyyat al-Wudu whenever she performs ablution.
