Is Sending Salawat the Only Act of Worship That Forgives Sins, Records Good Deeds, and Elevates Ranks?

Does Sending Blessings Upon the Prophet (Salawat) Forgive Sins, Record Good Deeds, and Elevate Ranks?

Question: Is it true that sending blessings upon the Prophet (Salawat) is the only act of worship that simultaneously forgives sins, records good deeds, and elevates ranks?

Answer: It is authentically proven that sending blessings upon the Prophet (Salawat) results in the forgiveness of sins, the recording of good deeds, and the elevation of ranks. Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

"Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him ten times, erase ten sins from him, and raise him ten degrees in status" (Sahih Al-Jami: 6359).

However, it is not correct to say that only Salawat has this unique characteristic. Other acts of worship also share these benefits. For example, Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

“Whoever says after the Fajr prayer while sitting cross-legged before speaking: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ten times, ten good deeds will be written for him, ten sins will be erased from him, and he will be raised ten degrees in status. He will be protected from all disliked things that day, guarded from Satan, and no sin will overtake him that day except for associating partners with Allah” (Sahih At-Tirmidhi: 3474).

Similarly, ‘Amarah bin Shabib As-Saba’i narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

“Whoever says after Maghrib prayer ten times: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ Allah will send armed angels to protect him from Satan until the morning, ten good deeds will be written for him, ten sins will be erased from him, and he will have the reward of freeing ten believing slaves” (Sahih At-Tirmidhi: 3534).
