Understanding Tahajjud Prayer and Recitation Guidelines
Question: In the Tahajjud prayer, can one recite the last ten Surahs in the first Rak’ah and then the same ten Surahs in the second Rak’ah, as these are the only Surahs memorized, while wanting to prolong the standing?
Answer: Firstly, Tahajjud prayer is not limited to just two Rak’ahs where one might recite ten Surahs in the first Rak’ah and ten Surahs in the second Rak’ah. Tahajjud consists of eight Rak’ahs, but one can pray more or less as desired. There is no issue if the same Surahs recited in the first Rak’ah are repeated in the subsequent Rak’ahs. Additionally, in Tahajjud prayer, one can also recite from the Mushaf (Quran) if they wish.
