Reciting the Quran in the Name of Allah: Understanding Worship and Intent

Can We Recite the Quran in the Name of Allah? Insights on Worship and Sincerity

Question: Can we recite the Quran in the name of Allah?

Answer: We recite the Quran in the name of Allah, and indeed, all our verbal and physical acts of worship are for Allah. Allah Almighty says:

Say (O Muhammad ﷺ): “Verily, my Salat (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-An'am: 162)

This verse clearly shows that all our acts of worship are for Allah. It should also be understood that for any action to be accepted, sincerity (ikhlaas) and adherence to the Sunnah are required. Ikhlaas means performing the act solely for Allah, and adherence to the Sunnah means performing the act according to the practice of the Prophet ﷺ. Only when these two conditions are met will the act be accepted by Allah.
