Taking Young Children to the Mosque: A Guide for Parents

Is It Appropriate to Take Young Children to the Mosque?

Question: Can young children, such as four or five-year-olds, be taken to the mosque, especially considering the risk of damage to items like table fans in rural areas?

Answer: There is no harm in taking a four or five-year-old child to the mosque. They can be taken so that they pray with the Muslims and develop an interest in praying.

As for the issue of items kept in the mosque, it does not matter because the child will stay with their father, who will supervise them. It is not that the child will be left to do whatever they want, such as making noise or damaging items. No, the father or guardian should keep the child under supervision and with them. If it is found that the child is causing damage and cannot be controlled, then the child should not be brought to the mosque until they are more aware and the father can supervise them properly.
