Reciting Aloud in Non-Obligatory Prayers: Day and Night Guidelines

Should I Recite Aloud in Non-Obligatory Prayers?

Question: Can we recite aloud in non-obligatory prayers other than the emphasized Sunnah prayers?

Answer: The Sunnah for non-obligatory prayers performed during the day is to recite them silently. However, for non-obligatory prayers performed at night, the Sunnah is to recite them aloud. In fact, all night prayers are to be recited aloud, whether they are obligatory like Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr, or non-obligatory like Tahajjud.
