Understanding the Ruling on Uncovering the Shoulder (Idtiba) During Umrah
Question: Yesterday, I performed Umrah on Friday, and since it was sunny at the time, my shoulder was covered. In fact, I had forgotten about it. After completing two circuits of tawaf, I remembered and uncovered my shoulder. What is the ruling on my Umrah, considering I have sought forgiveness from Allah?
Answer: Your Umrah is valid, and there is no issue with it. Ideally, you should have performed all seven circuits of tawaf with your right shoulder uncovered (performing Idtiba). However, since you unintentionally left it covered for two circuits, there is no harm. Uncovering the shoulder (Idtiba) is a Sunnah, not obligatory or a pillar of the Umrah. Therefore, forgetting to observe this Sunnah does not affect the validity of your Umrah.
