Can Muslim Women Wear Wigs or Undergo Hair Transplants?
Question: If a cancer patient or a woman suffering from a disease like alopecia, which causes hair loss to the extent that it does not grow back, can such a woman wear a wig? Similarly, is it permissible to undergo PRP treatment or hair transplant?
Answer: If a woman’s hair falls out or she suffers from a disease that causes hair loss, it can be a source of distress for her and is considered a defect. To remove this defect, a woman can choose any treatment, provided that the treatment does not cause her any physical harm. Therefore, for baldness, a woman can undergo PRP treatment, wear a wig, or even have a hair transplant.
