Chapter: What has come concerning Tanjeem (fortune telling through stars)
Al-Bukhaari said in his Sahih: Qataadah said: “Allaah created these stars for three (reasons): As beautification for the sky, as missiles for the Shayaateen, and landmarks to use as guidance. So whoever understands other than that is mistaken, and has wasted his portion, and spoken with he has no knowledge concerning. “
[End of speech]
And Qataadah disliked learning the stations of the moon, and Ibn 'Uyainah didn't permit it." Harb mentioned it from both of them. And Ahmed and Ishaaq permitted learning the stations, and from Abi Musaa, he said: The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: "Three will not enter Jennah: An alcoholic, one who accepts magic, and one who severs the ties of kinship."
[Reported by Ahmed and Ibn Hibbaan in his Sahih]
In it are Masaa’il (topics):
The First: The wisdom in creating the stars.
The Second: Refuting the one who claims other than that.
The Third: Mentioning the difference of opinion on learning the stations of the moon.
The Fourth: The punishment of the one who accepts anything from magic, even if he knows its falsehood.
