Chapter: What has come concerning An-Nushrah
From Jaabir: That the Prophet was asked about An-Nushrah? So he said: "It's from the works of the Shaytaan (devil)."
[Reported by Ahmed with a Jayyid chain and Abu Daawud]
And he said Ahmed was about it so he said Ibn Mas’ood saw all of it as impermissible.”
And in Al-Bukhaari from Qataadah, I said to Ibn Musayyib: "A man has been inflicted with magic or is abstaining from his wife? Is the magic to be broken or Nushrah to be done? So he said:" There's no problem with it, they intend rectification by it, as for what is beneficial they didn't prohibit it."
[End of speech]
And it’s reported from Al-Hasan that he said: “Nothing cancels magic except a magician.”
Ibnul-Qayyim said: “An-Nushrah is canceling magic from the one inflicted with magic, and its of two types:
The First: Canceling it with magic like it, and that is what is from the works of Shaytaan. And upon it is the statement of Al-Hasan understood, so the Naashir and Muntashir seek closeness to the Shaytaan with what he loves, so he cancels the magic from the one inflicted with magic.
The Second: An-Nushrah with Ruqyah and the Mu’awithaat and remedies and permissible du’aas. So this is permissible.
In it are Masaa’il (topics):
The First: The prohibition of An-Nushrah.
The Second: The difference between whats prohibited and what’s allowed which removes the confusion.
