Correcting a Mistake: Ihram and Umrah After Reaching Makkah
Question: A woman was traveling for Umrah by plane. Before reaching the Miqat, she felt that her menstrual period had started, so she did not make her intention for Umrah. Upon reaching Makkah, she realized her period had not actually started. What should she do now? Should she go back to the Miqat to make the intention and then perform Umrah?
Answer: The woman made a mistake by not making her intention for Umrah at the Miqat due to the suspicion of menstruation. She should have learned the rulings of Umrah beforehand. Even during menstruation, a woman can assume Ihram at the Miqat. However, because she did not make her intention and is now in Makkah without Ihram, she should return to her Miqat, make her intention, and then proceed to perform Umrah.
