From the commentary on the Book of Tawheed by Shaykhul-Islaam Muhammad bin Abdil-Wahhaab may Allaah have mercy on him, 4th, Lesson,

By Shaykh, the ‘Allāmah, the Trustworthy Advisor, Abu ‘Abdirrahmān Yahya bin ‘Ali Al-Hajūri – may Allāh preserve him – on the 12th, Jumaadah Al-Oulaa, 1443H

Chapter: The fear of Shirk, and the statement of Allaah:

"Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases,"

[An-Nisaa’: 48]

And the Khaleel ﷺ:

"And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said: "O my Lord! Make this city (Makkah) one of peace and security, and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols."

[Ibraaheem: 35]

And in the Hadith: “The most frightening thing that I fear for you is minor Shirk, so he was asked about it, so he said: Showing-off.”

[Reported by Ahmed and At-Tabaraani and Al-Baihaqi]

And from Ibn Mas’ood may Allaah be pleased with him, he said: That the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:

"Whoever dies while calling upon other than Allaah as an equal, will enter the Naar (Fire)."

[Reported by Al-Bukhaari]

And from Jaabir may Allaah be pleased with him, he said: That the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:

"Whoever meets Allaah without associating anything with Him will enter Jannah, and whoever meets Allaah while associating (anything) with Him will enter the Naar."

[Reported by Muslim]

In it are Masaa’il (topics):

The First: The fear of Shirk.

The Second: Showing-off is from Shirk.

The Third: That it’s from minor Shirk.

The Fourth: That it’s the most feared thing upon the righteous.

The Fifth: The closeness of the Jannah and the Naar.

The Sixth: The combination between their closeness in a single Hadith.

The Seventh: That whoever meets Allaah without associating anything with Him will enter Jannah, and whoever meets Allaah while associating (anything) with Him will enter the Naar. Even if he was from amongst the most dedicated of people in acts of worship.

The Eighth: The topic is great: The asking of the Khaleel for him and his children to be saved from worshipping idols.

The Ninth: Considering the state of the majority due to His statement:

"O my Lord! They have indeed led astray many among mankind."

[Ibraaheem: 36]

The Tenth: In it is the Tafseer ‘Laa ilaaha illaa Allaah’ as is mentioned in Al-Bukhaari.

The Eleventh: The virtue of the one who is free from Shirk.
